I hate having nothing to write about – especially on a day when I should update the blog!
So, random question:
Would you rather read inside, on the couch, in your PJ’s with a hot comfort beverage while it rains outside, or, read outside in the sun, in a tank top, shorts, and flip-flops while sipping on a soda or ice tea?

Definitely the former. I would also posit that a crackling fireplace could only make it better.

I also prefer the former, controlled warmth in comfortable clothes is a dream come true, especially if the book is an old favorite.

Don’t even need to think about this one – inside!

Inside, rain.
It happens SO rarely here in Southern California that a rainy weekend day is an excuse to drop all other plans just to hang out and read.

Both in equal doses, depending on the weather.

These days, I mostly enjoy reading inside as well – though, as a child, one of my favorite spots to read was an elm tree in my great-grandma’s backyard. I’d pluck a few apples from her orchard, climb up into the elm, and read for hours.

Must we choose? Cruel, cruel choice. I’d vote for the former during the late fall and winter, and the latter during the spring and summer. I like reading outside on a nice day, because the warmth of the sun and light breezes helps to relax me more and gives a little extra poetry to the text. But reading comfortably inside is great too, and you’re less likely to have a fly hover around your head or some bozo with a cigarette start puffing up nearby so you start choking on the air.
