Another old Booking Through Thursday prompt (this one from 2010).

So, the first book I remember reading, by myself that is – no adult help, is One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss. I have many memories of my parents reading it to me as well, but that’s the earliest solo reading experience I can recall. My mom tells the story of me charming other people by reading it aloud while sitting in our family doctor’s waiting room when I was small.

Other books that I read to myself at that time include Go, Dog. Go!, Ten Apples Up On Top, and The Cat in the Hat.

What drew me into these books was the bright colors and the cute pictures. I loved looking at them, so I went back again and again! And so another bookworm was born! 😉
